Unlocking Unexpected Opportunities

Sorry, I’ve been away since posting my first blog, I needed some time to focus on my 16-year-old after she opened her GCSE envelope.
Evie worked so hard and came away with some lovely marks – she didn’t get the top grades, but passed everything with 4s and 5s - enough to unlock some amazing (and unexpected) opportunities.

Watching my baby choose between colleges, courses, and sixth forms (all of which wanted her to study with them) has been such a joy. Evie eventually chose a T Level in Media, Broadcasting and Production at a Sixth Form in Camden. They have amazing links to national TV stations, football clubs, advertising agencies, fashion houses, etc., and her world has opened up.
You know I believe life is so much more than GCSE grades, but most students have to take them, so it’s a good idea to make them as stress-free as possible. Evie’s results came from steady effort over two years – using the same methods I teach. And while having a GCSE tutor at home definitely helped, my techniques can be used by any parent. You don’t need to know the curriculum - just how to support your child through it.
To help, I’ve created a free downloadable ‘Top Tips’ guide for supporting your Year 10, 11 (or even Year 9) child towards their GCSE exams.
Which will be available in the next few days.
These are aimed at the reluctant student or the Grade 3 student who needs to achieve Grade 4.
Some of these suggestions may be a little different to ones you often find, so please take a look!
I’ll be running a few parent seminars over the year to support you in supporting your children, so keep your eyes open for these.
Revision resources are also on their way!
