The things that sometimes aren't made clear to parents... (especially the ones who don't have child geniuses)
GCSE Quick Bits Number 2

What they say...
'Set up a specific space for your revision and make a revision timetable.'
What we know...
Most reluctant learners have an extreme reaction when presented with a timetable - they have too much structure in school and they do not want to see it at home too.
Most family homes are chaotic, you probably don't have a spare, quiet corner in your home (if you did it would be filled with washing) and, once again, its too much like school.
What I suggest...
You do not need to create a revision timetable (I actually think you should not create one) or set up a designated study space.

GCSE Quick Bits Number 1

What they say...
'If you don't work hard, you'll fail your GCSEs and be homeless.'
Yes, this was said to one of my children!
What we know...
All students have to stay in education (or pursue apprenticeships) until the age of 18.
Even if they do not pass anything, they will be offered the chance to do something at a local college. It may be a level one qualification, but they will not be out on the street!
